Who Are the Gun Rights Examiners?

Austin: Former civilian disarmament supporter and medical researcher Howard Nemerov investigates the civil liberty of self defense and examines the issue of gun control.

Charlotte: Paul Valone is a Second Amendment veteran who directs Grass Roots North Carolina and who regularly impacts local, state and federal gun laws. He will advise gun rights supporters of impending threats.

Cleveland: Daniel White graduated from the University of Hartford majoring in Criminal Justice with minors in Sociology and English. He currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of Ohioans For Concealed Carry and is a NRA Training Counselor.

DC: Mike Stollenwerk retired from the U.S. Army after over 20 years of service to attend law school at Georgetown University. Mike lives in Virginia, works at a small law firm in Washington, D.C., and manages OpenCarry.org with John Pierce.

Denver: Dan Bidstrup's Denver roots go back two generations. He has enjoyed target shooting for decades. He carries a gun along with a pen and pocketknife because it’s another tool he might need.

Los Angeles: John Longenecker was one of the earliest Paramedics in Los Angeles EMS. Today, he is an author, speaker, blogger and frequent talkradio guest on the role of the armed citizen in America.

Minneapolis: John Pierce is a life-long gun rights advocate, an NRA certified instructor and co-founder of the nationwide gun rights group OpenCarry.org. John has an MBA from George Mason University and is a first-year law student at Hamline University.

National: David Codrea is a long-time gun rights advocate and writer. A featured columnist for Guns Magazine, his articles and his online journal, The War on Guns , defiantly challenge the folly of citizen disarmament.

Seattle: Dave Workman is an author, senior editor of Gun Week, communications director for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, award-winning outdoor writer, former member of the NRA Board of Directors.

St. Louis: A former paratrooper, Kurt Hofmann was paralyzed in a car accident in 2002. The helplessness inherent to confinement to a wheelchair prompted him to explore armed self-defense, only to discover that Illinois denies that right, inspiring him to become active in gun rights advocacy. He writes a gun rights blog, called Armed and Safe.
